Born in Ikorodu on the 10th of August, 1959, to the great Odeyemi family of Ikorodu, Lagos State, Adesina Mohammed Odeyemi, Bio-Chemist, teacher, experienced Public Administrator and Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Education started his early education at the reputable Mayflower School, Ikenne, Ogun State.
Under the management of the great, indefatigable educationist and social crusader, Comrade Taiye Solarin, Adesina went through secondary education and obtained West African School Certificate (WASC) 1973 to 1978; proceeded to University of Ife, Ile-Ife in 1979 and obtained (Bsc. Hons) in Bio- Chemistry in 1983.
Mr. Odeyemi started his working career at the Schools Management Board as a classroom teacher at Awodi-Ora Secondary School, Awodi-Ora, Ajegunle, Lagos State from April 1985 to January 1997. Not one to let opportunities slip-by, he took advantage of the proximity of his then place of work to the Lagos State University, (LASU) Ojo to satisfy his yearning for more knowledge and thus enrolled for a Masters degree in Public Administration (MPA) in 1993 and bagged same in 1995.
With a Masters degree in the kitty, the young Adesina sought to contribute to the development of his dear State of Lagos at a higher level and transferred service into the Lagos State Civil Service. He served in the Ministry of Establishments, Pensions &Training as an Administrative Officer in January 1997 to April 2003.
His dedication to duty, display of intelligence and loyalty saw him deployed to the Office of the Head of Service, Public Service Office as a Private Secretary to the Head of Service in April, 2003 until he was transferred to Local Government Establishments & Pensions Office as the Director of Finance and Administration from April to December 2008.
Adesina’s outstanding performance and dint of hardwork saw the astute administrator appointed as the Executive Secretary of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) from August to October 2008 where he excelled as a trained Public Administrator.
Upon return to the Civil Service, he served in various Ministries as Director of Finance and Administration. Like the proverbial golden fish which has no hiding place, the head-hunt radar of His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode spotted the Bio-Chemist turned administrator and was appointed as a Permanent Secretary in the State Civil Service.
He was posted to the Office of the Head of Service, Public Service Office in August, 2015 until his deployment to the Ministry of Education on the 27th of April, 2016.
He is happily married and blessed with children.
